Here is a map of where I will be for all of you who didn't pay attention in Geography.

Hey kids, I wanted to let you all know I won't be posting for a little while. "Why," you ask, "dear Krista, Why would you abandon us and our blog needs?" Well gentle readers, I am taking myself on a little trip. A trip to China! That's right, me and the Twink-meister are going to Beijing for a little Great Wall walkin, Forbidden Palace lookin, Temple of Heaven goin, trip o' awesomeness.

I can't wait to write about it and share pictures when I get back.

I hope you all have a lovely week.

PS - if you are looking for something to read right now and haven't read The Smoking Guns transcript of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's divorce documents....you must! It's better than a Danielle Steel novel.

I am at work...lalala. I shouldn't be updating blogs, I should be working...lalalala. People at my office read my blog....lalalala. People who could fire me read my blog.....lalalala. I should stop....but I can't....cause I am feeling creative and need to release my energy to the lord of the blog!

Whooooooooo.

I've added Kedar to the link list to the right. He's soon to be my new roommate and I think decided to start his own blog in order to have a voice in the din of blogging friends. Either that or his creative energies were building up inside of him too. Lord knows he isn't really entertaining in real life. In fact, in real life he comes across rather stale...but give him a keyboard and some programming skills and whooo hold on to you saris folks...this boy can write...and he's funny.

Ah, I kid. I just need to give him a hard time because he just emailed me and called me old. Jerkhead.

In other news I did a little investigating on the old site meter to see what people search for when they come to my blog. And it's a bit disconcerting to say the least. And I'm hesitating to even write what the searches were in fear that will only exacerbate the problem...but I'm dumb and it's funny - so here they are:

  • Most of the searches were for the name Krista...which is my name and makes sense that you would find my blog, if you were looking for Krista sites. I bet most of these searches were done by my fellow Kristas...because we are a curious lot and like to keep an eye on each other.
  • Girls crossing their legs - um, I'll leave this one up to your imagination. I'm not sure where I have this particular phrase, but I must. I doubt the searcher found what they were looking for on my site.
  • Girls locker room pictures - this one is less subtle. Obviously this searcher was looking for some teen boobies.
  • Brooklyn nude girls - this one is actually sort of complimentary. Someone out there loves us enough to want to see all of us naked. Nice.
  • Penthouse Club Waitresses - this one is either a pretty girl looking for a job, or a man looking for a pretty girl.
  • Krista lane - this one is actually sweet. Doesn't it conjure up a lovely spring day, hummingbirds, the scent of honeysuckle in the air...a little arts and crafts house...me sitting on the porch...eating ice cream and swinging on my swing. Ahhh...nice Krista lane. (UPDATE: It seems I need to do a little more research before I start waxing poetic about Krista Lane....it seems Krista Lane is an actual person...a porn person. And now my blog is getting mass hits for people looking for a Krista who likes to wear nurses outfits while doing non-nursing duties.)
  • This one is my personal favorite - Lovely Labias. HAHA. Someone actually did a search for Lovely Labias. I can't improve on this by saying any more.

I just got back from a whirlwind Easter trip to D.C. My sister Celee lives down there so the whole family met up and spent the night at her house. Well, Ally and I stayed over, my parents stayed outside in the RV. Having an RV is like having a little mobile annex. You never have to worry about where my parents are going to sleep...they bring the beds with them!

I ended up flying down there. Doesn't it seem odd that a plane is the cheapest mode of transportation? Well, after the Chinatown bus...and I just can't face that option sometimes.

It was nice seeing everyone. We hadn't spent time together since Christmas. And we had two new additions to our little O family...two new puppies. Oh, I love me some puppies. Oh yes I do. And I even got to sleep with one of them! All cuddled up on the air mattress with me. It was a veritable puppy party.

Anyway, we all got together, played a lot of dominos, ate some great food (thanks to Margaret), and didn't have any major blow-ups. Phew.

So it's back to work for me tomorrow. But only for two more weeks and then I'm off to China for a quick vacation to Beijing. Whooo. Me and the Twinkie are going and I'm really excited. Nervous and excited.

I'm sleepy now. Time for bed.

Bowlin is fun, how 'bout it!

Sunday was beautiful. Warm and sunny. The perfect spring day. So you know what my friends and I decided to do? We went to spend time in a smelly bowling alley! Whooo. In all fairness we had planned this bowling trip the week before. How were we to know it was going to be glorious outside?

We did strike it lucky in the end. The bowling alley was filled with screaming kids and all the lanes were filled. So what are 6 people to do? We went back to J and Liz's and sat in the back yard. Well, I didn't sit, I laid. I had Liz get me a sheet and I laid in the sun, feeling as happy as a cat lounging in a ray of sunshine on a wood floor.

After a few hours, we decided to try the bowling alley again and finally got a lane. So we got ourselves some beers, aimed our thumbs, and released the big sticky ball hoping we would not be mocked by the cartoon pins after gutterballing it.

Here are some pictures of our fine form.

If only the pins cared that we looked so good.

This morning the sound of drums woke me from my slumber. It took me a minute before I realized what it was. My mind was quickly clicking through possibilities when it came to me. It's Little League Parade Day! It's one of the sweeter things that happen here in Brooklyn. The first Saturday of April all of the Little Leagues teams who play baseball in Prospect Park parade up 7th Ave and turn up 9th street, directly in front of my apartment to celebrate opening day.

Apparently it's been going on forever. I have a friend who grew up here and he remembers parading up the street when he was a little league player. I should have grabbed my camera and taken some photos so you could see what it looks like. It's great to see all these little kids in their clean uniforms, all smiles, excited for the upcoming season. Not many people watch the parade. It's mostly just for the kids. I guess that makes this parade unique. Instead of kids lining the street or watching from their stoop they create the entertainment for everyone else.

It makes you wonder what it would be like if everyone had a parade for the things they do. I could have a parade when I begin a big project at work. I would pull a wagon behind me with my laptop wrapped in ribbons and I'd have a float celebrating Microsoft Office and massive spreadsheets filled with data would be thrown out to the crowd. Ha. It would be called Snooze-fest.
